Rossana was born in the beautiful island of Cuba. She lived there happily until the age of 8, when circumstances turned sour, forcing her parents to flee in search of a better life. A free life. She found her home in the United States, where she has lived since 1966.
Her love of writing started early on. Inspired by The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, she wrote horror stories long hand (before computers made things so much easier to edit and re-write), and acted out stories with her Barbie dolls. Her favorite story? The Birds, by Alfred Hitchcock. Red crayons worked beautifully to create those bloody pecks on Barbie and Ken.
Writing horror and playing with Barbies weren’t her only interests. Oh no! At the age of 12 she taught herself how to play the guitar, started to read as many books as she could, and showed off her dancing skills to fun 45s. Remember those?
Rossana loved psychology since she was a teen. It’s no wonder, then, that she went to Antioch University in Marina Del Rey and received a Masters degree in Psychology in 1996. With the support of her husband/best friend, she got through six years of hard work, and earned her Marriage & Family Therapist license.
Rossana is the mother of two amazing sons, and four awesome grandchildren. Her hobbies include playing piano, violin, viola, painting, reading, languages, and being a Fitness Instructor at her local YMCA.
The Healing Alphabet, 26 Empowering Ways to Enrich Your Life, is her first book, but certainly not her last. The idea for this book came to her about 15 years ago, shortly after waking out of a sound sleep. The letters of the alphabet showered her mind in a flurry, attaching themselves to words. She knew at the moment that it was supposed to be a book. And so it is!
